Noreena jasper is internationally famous for its geometric, abstract patterns. It is found in the Hamersley Basin near the iron ore mining town of Newman, Australia in the Pilbara region. It is part of the Jeerinah Formation, Fortescue Group, and is 2.7 to 2.6 Billion years old. It is a silicified mudstone, where the fractures were pathways for the fluids and gave the jasper the famous red and orange geometric patterns. It is the oldest known ancient lake deposit, this cabochon pendant is a fossilized lake! With it’s bold colors it is dynamic designer piece.
