Plasma agate comes from the Clear Creek recreational area in San Benito County, California near the town of Coalinga. This material wasn't collected for years as the area was shut down due to old mining dangers, it can now be collected by permit only. This truly unique material is sought after because it's a combination of chalcedony, serpentine, jade or jadeite, chromite, cinnabar, and various other minerals; all incorporated in a swirling mixture of colors.
