At the heart of the piece is ancient Colla Wood paired with a purple resin layer, creating depth and motion that feel almost painterly. Fossilized colla wood forms when buried trees are gradually replaced by minerals over millions of years, preserving the original cellular structure of the wood while transforming it into stone.

The materials are set in solid .925 sterling silver, hand-crafted in Texas by geologist and lapidary artist Ben Davis with master silversmith Randy Bryant. The design frames the layered materials so the colors and textures take center stage, almost like a tiny canvas surrounded by silver.
