The Black Forest has long been a place of fairy tales and folklore, where enchanted woods, hidden spirits, and whispered legends shaped European myth. Beneath those dark pines, the land holds a deeper magic: lithophysae, volcanic crystal formations born from explosive eruptions millions of years ago. 🌋 Their swirling chambers capture a moment in geologic time, like frozen breath inside stone. These are my favorite pieces. They are like little magic talismans from places of history and lore. Ben and I actually visited the Black Forest on our honeymoon 25 years ago, and that place has a distinctly different feel to it. Like Legolas says in The Lord of the Rings...this forest is OLD.
