Agatized Palm Wood Pendant – Fossil Palm from Indonesia | Ben & Bryant Collection

$293.00 $379.00

This stone began as a palm tree millions of years ago. Ben cut this agatized palm wood cabochon to highlight the incredible fossilized cellular patterns preserved within the ancient wood, creating a natural mosaic of earthy tones, dark inclusions, and soft agate banding.

Agatized palm wood forms when ancient palm trees are buried and slowly mineralized by silica-rich groundwater. Over millions of years, the organic structure of the palm is replaced by agate, preserving the tree's original cellular patterns. The result is a remarkable fossil where the geometry of the palm’s vascular bundles becomes a permanent stone record of a long-lost forest.

The stone was carefully shaped and polished by geologist and lapidary artist Ben Davis, then brought to life in silver by master silversmith Randy Bryant of Midland, Texas. Randy framed the fossil wood in solid .925 sterling silver with his distinctive hand-textured edge work, creating a setting that complements the organic patterns preserved within the stone.

Each piece in the Ben & Bryant Collection celebrates geology, craftsmanship, and the beauty of natural stone.
