Aurora Borealis Synthetic Opal Pendant | Removable Two-Piece Bale | Ben & Bryant Collection
It looks like the Northern Lights are captured inside a gemstone! This Aurora Borealis synthetic opal flashes with electric reds, deep blues, and vivid greens that shift and move as light hits the stone, creating a dramatic, sky-like glow within the triangular cabochon.
Synthetic opal is engineered to mimic the natural silica sphere structure that creates the famous “play of color” in natural opal. In high-quality German material like this piece, the microscopic silica spheres are carefully arranged so light diffracts through them, producing the brilliant fire and color shifts that make opal so mesmerizing.
The stone is set in solid .925 sterling silver, hand-crafted in Texas by geologist and lapidary artist Ben Davis with master silversmith Randy Bryant. Randy designed the surrounding silver with bold textured lines that radiate outward from the stone, echoing the energy and movement of the opal’s color play. The pendant also features a removable two-piece bale, allowing it to be worn with a variety of chains or cords.
Each piece in the Ben & Bryant Collection celebrates geology, craftsmanship, and the beauty of unique materials.
