3 Opal Pendant (Found at the Gem Show in Tucson)
This small 3 cabochon natural opal pendant was a fun find at the Gem and Mineral Show this year!
Opals form when silica-rich water seeps into cracks, cavities, or voids in rock, often left behind by fossils or fractures. As water slowly evaporates over long periods, microscopic silica spheres settle and pack together. When those spheres are uniform in size and arrangement, they diffract light and create opal’s characteristic play-of-color.
While the original mining location of this opal is unknown, we do know the pendant is set in 925 sterling silver!

Why opal is so cherished:
Opal has long been associated with creativity, intuition, and inner light. Its ever-changing color reminds us that beauty doesn’t need to shout, it can glow softly and still be unforgettable.
