Royal Imperial Jasper or "Wood Grain" Jasper
I love Royal Imperial. From Mexico, this unique rock can come in a variety of colors, from greens to browns. A darker color, this pendant matches everything and has almost a wood grain like quality to it. Are you a nature lover? This is the one!
Royal Imperial jasper is from 50 miles NW of Guadalajara, Mexico on the east side of a steep canyon, just north of the small town of San Cristobal. It is considered one of the five fine jaspers (Bruneau, Morrisonite, Willow Creek, and Blue Mountain), the only one of the five to be found outside the US. It is known for having the richest “egg” pattern and largest collecting area out of all 5 jaspers. The “egg” pattern is from when the jasper is formed in the host rock
