Frog Skin Agate
What a funny name. This incredibly rare material is mined by one individual that I met on Instagram about 10 years ago. He found this small deposit in Western Washington near the base of large volcanoes. He only sells finished cabochons and no raw material, which suits me as this a superbly polished stone. I bought this particular cabochon from him about 10 years ago and have been hoarding it ever since, it is hard to let this one go. My father worked in Egypt in the 90's and I loved the "recently made" antiques he brought back, one of which were gold cartouche necklaces for my sisters. Cartouches are long oval pendants with hieroglyphics in them, which I thought was an appropriate style for this incredible piece. This is truly an one of a kind piece of art.
