Russian Rhodonite takes its name from the Greek word “rhodon,” meaning “rose,” a fitting description for the mineral’s signature color. It is a manganese silicate that forms in metamorphic environments where manganese-rich minerals recrystallize under heat and pressure deep within the Earth. These conditions create the stone’s characteristic pink body color along with darker mineral inclusions that appear as natural flecks or veins throughout the stone.

The cabochon for this pendant was carefully hand-cut by Ben Davis to showcase the soft color and delicate speckled pattern within the stone.
