This was the very first rhodonite cabochon Ben Davis ever cut, and we finally decided to set it in 925 sterling silver! Many rhodonite stones have deep dark veins or specks but Ben cut this one to get just the pink (his youngest daughter loves it)
Russian Rhodonite gets its name from the Greek word “rhodon,” meaning “rose,” perfectly describing the mineral’s gentle color. It forms when manganese-rich minerals undergo metamorphism under heat and pressure, creating the signature pink tones and darker mineral specks seen in this stone.
