Cripple Creek Picture Jasper

When one looks at depth at this pendant the vast desert landscape at night is readily imagined. Which is fitting, this stone’s landscape pattern reflects the high desert plateau of the Owyhee Mountains in Southeastern Oregon from which it is mined. The Owyhee mountains are composed of 9-14 million year old rhyolite flows which are deep cut and terraced by the Owyhee river. This majestic material has a deep olive green sky with a tan to brown foreground. It reminds one of rustic desert nights with campfire and s’mores!
