Amazonite

Any guess on where this rock comes from? Yep! The Amazon river! It is a green tectosilicate mineral, a variety of potassium feldspar called microcline. So named because it was originally found in the Amazon, we now know it has sources all around the globe. Archeologists have even found this green mineral in Egypt and Mesopotamia!
